Whether you’re building a new home, planning a whole-home renovation, redesigning a kitchen or bath, or furnishing an existing space, Olive + Cedar Design provides comprehensive design guidance shaped around your home, lifestyle, and project goals.

Comprehensive Interior Design for the Way You Live

New Construction & Pre-Construction Design

A well-designed home begins long before construction starts. Olive + Cedar Design works alongside homeowners, builders, and trades during the pre-construction phase to help shape the interior of the home before critical decisions are finalized.

We review plans through the lens of how the home will actually function and be lived in, considering room layouts, circulation, furniture placement, cabinetry, lighting, electrical needs, and the relationship between spaces. From there, we develop a cohesive interior direction, guiding materials, finishes, fixtures, and architectural details so each decision works together as part of the home as a whole.

By making key design decisions before construction is underway, we create a clearer path into the build, helping reduce rushed choices, decision fatigue, and costly changes later, while giving your builder and trades the direction they need to carry the design forward.

Ideal For

  • Custom homes in the planning or pre-construction phase

  • Homeowners working with a builder or preparing to select one

  • Clients who want an interior designer involved before plans and construction decisions are finalized

  • New homes requiring comprehensive interior design direction

  • Homeowners who want the function, flow, finishes, and future furnishings of their home considered together

  • Clients seeking collaboration between their interior designer, builder, and trades from the early stages of the project

Don’t have a builder or contractor yet? Olive + Cedar Design works with a network of trusted builders, contractors, craftsmen, and trades and can help connect clients with professionals suited to their project when needed.

Additional Information

Every new construction project is individually scoped based on the home, construction plans, project complexity, desired level of design involvement, timeline, and coordination required.

Following the complimentary Discovery Consultation, projects moving forward require a Project Assessment, billed at the designer’s current hourly rate. This allows Olive + Cedar Design to review the project in greater detail and gather the information needed to develop a project-specific Scope of Work and professional design fee.

Whole-Home Renovation Design

Renovating an existing home is an opportunity to rethink more than finishes. Olive + Cedar Design approaches whole-home renovations by looking at the home as a whole, considering how the layout, function, flow, architectural details, and interior finishes can work together to better support the way you live.

We become involved during the planning phase, before major design and construction decisions are finalized. Whether that means reworking portions of the floor plan, redesigning kitchens and baths, developing cabinetry and millwork, or creating a cohesive material and finish direction throughout the home, the goal is to establish a clear design vision before construction moves forward.

Throughout the project, Olive + Cedar Design collaborates with your contractor and trades to help carry the approved design direction from planning into construction. Establishing those decisions early creates greater clarity for everyone involved and helps reduce rushed choices, decision fatigue, and costly changes later in the renovation.

Ideal For

  • Extensive whole-home renovations

  • Renovations involving multiple connected spaces

  • Homes requiring significant layout or functional changes

  • Projects involving kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, millwork, lighting, and material selections

  • Older homes being reimagined for modern everyday living

  • Homeowners purchasing a property with plans for a substantial renovation

  • Clients who want a cohesive design direction established before construction begins

  • Homeowners seeking collaboration between their interior designer, contractor, and trades throughout the renovation

Kitchen & Bath Design

Kitchens and bathrooms are some of the most detailed spaces in a home, requiring dozens of decisions to come together both beautifully and functionally. Olive + Cedar Design provides comprehensive design guidance for kitchen and bath renovations, helping establish the layout, materials, fixtures, finishes, and overall direction before construction moves forward.

We approach these spaces with everyday living in mind, considering how cabinetry, storage, lighting, plumbing, surfaces, and circulation work together, not simply how each individual selection looks. By developing a clear design direction early, your contractor and trades have the information they need to carry the vision into construction.

Whether you are completely reimagining a primary bathroom, renovating a kitchen, adding a scullery or pantry, or updating several kitchen and bath spaces together, the design is developed around the architecture of your home and the way you use it.

Ideal For

  • Full kitchen renovations

  • Primary bathroom renovations

  • Kitchen and scullery or pantry projects

  • Multiple bathroom renovations

  • Projects involving cabinetry or layout changes

  • Renovations requiring coordinated material, lighting, plumbing, and finish selections

  • Homeowners who want design decisions established before construction begins

60-Minute Virtual Design Consultation

Investment: $350

Sometimes you don’t need a full design service, you simply need an experienced designer to help you move forward with confidence.

The 60-Minute Virtual Design Consultation is a focused, one-on-one session with Olive + Cedar Design created for homeowners who have specific design questions, are working through a decision, or want professional direction before moving forward with a project.

Bring your questions, photos, plans, measurements, inspiration, or selections you’re considering. We’ll use our time together to talk through your space, identify opportunities, work through design decisions, and give you clear direction for your next steps.

Ideal For

  • Paint and color direction

  • Furniture placement and space-planning questions

  • Reviewing furniture or décor options

  • Kitchen or bathroom design questions

  • Material and finish selections

  • Lighting and hardware decisions

  • Reviewing a floor plan or renovation idea

  • Styling and finishing questions

  • Narrowing down options when you’re feeling stuck

  • Homeowners managing their own project who want professional design guidance

How It Works

Prior to your consultation, you’ll submit photos of your space along with any relevant measurements, plans, inspiration images, and the specific questions you’d like to discuss. This allows us to spend your scheduled 60 minutes focused on your project rather than gathering basic information.

Your consultation is held virtually and is dedicated entirely to the design questions and priorities submitted for your session.

Please Note

The 60-Minute Virtual Design Consultation is an advisory service and does not include post-consultation design development, sourcing, drawings, mood boards, sample boards, specifications, purchasing, contractor coordination, or additional follow-up work.

Projects requiring more extensive design development may be better suited for one of Olive + Cedar Design’s full-service offerings.

Full-Service Furnishings & Styling

A beautifully furnished home is about more than filling rooms. Olive + Cedar Design creates complete, layered interiors where furniture, lighting, textiles, window treatments, art, and finishing details work together to create a home that feels warm, collected, and comfortable to live in.

We begin by considering how each space functions, how rooms connect, and how furnishings should be scaled and placed within the home. From there, we develop the overall design direction and manage the many selections and details needed to bring it together.

For projects that include product procurement, Olive + Cedar Design can manage purchasing, vendor communication, receiving and delivery coordination, installation, and final styling, creating a more seamless experience from design development through the finished home.

Ideal For

  • Whole-home furnishing projects

  • Multiple rooms being furnished together

  • Newly built or recently purchased homes ready to be furnished

  • Homes needing a more cohesive furnishing and styling direction

  • Clients replacing or adding significant furnishings throughout their home

  • Projects involving furniture, rugs, lighting, window treatments, art, textiles, and accessories

  • Clients seeking professional procurement, installation, and final styling

  • Homeowners who want a complete interior rather than selecting pieces one at a time

Additional Information

Every Full-Service Furnishings & Styling project is individually scoped based on the number and size of spaces, furnishing needs, sourcing requirements, desired level of involvement, timeline, and installation needs.

Following the complimentary Discovery Consultation, projects moving forward require a Project Assessment, billed at the designer’s current hourly rate. This allows Olive + Cedar Design to walk the home, assess existing furnishings and spaces, take necessary measurements, and gather the information needed to develop a project-specific Scope of Work and professional design fee.

Furnishings and other product purchases are separate from the professional design fee. Product procurement is available for qualifying projects and is outlined within the project proposal.
