New Construction & Pre-Construction Design
A well-designed home begins long before construction starts. Olive + Cedar Design becomes involved during the planning phase, helping homeowners make thoughtful decisions before plans, selections and critical details are finalized.
Design support may include floor-plan review, space planning, cabinetry and millwork direction, lighting and electrical planning, plumbing fixtures, materials, finishes and architectural details. We collaborate with your builder and trades to establish a cohesive vision that considers how the home will function, flow and eventually be furnished.
Best suited for: Custom homes in the planning, pre-construction or early construction phase.
Whole-Home Renovation Design
A whole-home renovation is an opportunity to improve more than finishes. We consider how the layout, architecture, materials and connected spaces can work together to better support the way you live.
Design support may include space planning, floor-plan development, kitchens and bathrooms, cabinetry and millwork, lighting, fixtures, materials, finishes and contractor coordination. Establishing these decisions before construction begins provides greater clarity and helps reduce rushed selections and costly changes.
Best suited for: Extensive renovations involving multiple connected spaces, significant layout changes or a cohesive update throughout the home.
Kitchen & Bath Design
Kitchens and bathrooms require hundreds of decisions to work together both beautifully and functionally. Olive + Cedar Design develops a clear direction for the layout, cabinetry, storage, lighting, plumbing, surfaces, hardware, materials and finishes before construction begins.
Whether you’re renovating a kitchen, creating a pantry or scullery, transforming a primary bathroom or updating several spaces, the design is developed around your home’s architecture and everyday needs.
Best suited for: Comprehensive kitchen and bathroom renovations involving cabinetry, layout development and coordinated finish selections.
Whole-Home Furnishings & Styling
A beautifully furnished home is about more than selecting individual pieces. Olive + Cedar Design creates warm, collected interiors where furniture, lighting, rugs, window treatments, textiles, artwork and finishing details work together cohesively.
We consider how each room functions, how the spaces connect and how furnishings should be scaled and placed throughout the home. For qualifying projects, we can also manage sourcing, purchasing, vendor communication, receiving, delivery coordination, installation and final styling.
Best suited for: Whole-home and multi-room furnishing projects, newly built homes and existing homes ready for a cohesive transformation.
60-Minute Virtual Design Consultation
Investment: $350
Sometimes you don’t need comprehensive design services, you simply need professional direction to move forward confidently.
This focused one-on-one virtual consultation is designed for homeowners seeking guidance with paint colors, furniture placement, material selections, lighting, finishes, floor plans or another clearly defined design decision.
Before the appointment, you’ll submit photographs, measurements, plans, inspiration and the questions you’d like to discuss so our 60 minutes can remain focused and productive.
This is a standalone advisory service and does not include drawings, mood boards, sourcing, purchasing, contractor coordination, design development or follow-up work.
How Projects Begin
After reviewing your inquiry, Olive + Cedar Design may invite you to a complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call. This brief phone call allows us to discuss your project, timeline, investment expectations and the level of design support needed. Design recommendations are not provided during the Discovery Call.
Qualified projects then begin with a paid Project Assessment at $150 per hour, with a one-hour minimum. During the assessment, we evaluate the project in greater detail, review existing conditions, discuss your goals and gather the information needed to prepare a custom Scope of Work and professional design fee.
Every project is individually scoped based on its size, complexity, timeline and required level of involvement. Detailed design work begins after the proposal is accepted, the Design Agreement is signed and the required 50% retainer is paid.
Furnishings, materials, custom pieces, contractor costs and other product purchases are separate from the professional design fee. Procurement services and applicable purchasing terms will be outlined within your custom proposal.
